globederby12
In fact if one looks at his record you will notice his fastest mile rate is actually 2.02 when qualifying sixth out of six. So no improvement at all . If he was a dog he would have seen the inside of a can by now. But, its the owners prerogative ,and who are we to quantify the pleasure they get from seeing him run. An anomaly really. But one plays within the rules in force at the time. The horse probably fills a spot in its field that on reflection and stats should be allocated to a better performed animal. The rating system is a bone of contention within our racing syndicates manager/ trainers.

We've seen what the focus on the stupid metric "turnover per horse" does when you ignore quality of the punting product.

Averos Spitfire didnt go that bad yesterday and actually beat several home. This was due mainly to the fact that the race was run at a pedestrian pace mostly! Reality is that the horse has had 46 starts and never run a dividend bearing place, so what is the actual reason that the owners are racing the horse??? Do they suddenly think that it is going to develop some more ability all of a sudden?? Seriously, who in their semi right mind would still be running a horse without running in to a dividend bearing placing in 46 starts???. globederby12
Probably better off asking the owners that question Brodie. It alludes me, even trying to give it some legitimacy.

Certainly wont be a tote race at Addington! Maybe a workout somewhere! Na, doubt it has ever looked like winning a workout, unless it was on Bruce Negus’s track? Back in the late 90's I knew a farmer, hobby trainer/owner type, that would take his slow racehorse to Addington all the time. With his wife. Well, the wife would get dropped off at the shopping mall just up the road from Addington, and then get picked up again sometime post race. So there you go Brodie. There is every chance, the trainer/owner of a 46 start maiden, isn't actually bringing the horse to win a race. He knows full well, there is no hope in winning. He is merely killing time whilst his good lady wife is getting a perm at the hairdressers in the mall, and he can have a beer with his mates and partake in his hobby. Brodie
Personally think there is an onus on Andrew Faulks to stop training the horse as it could be classed as theft! Maybe there is a story behind why Averos Spitfire is still racing, but would be interested to hear what it was?

Thats right you dont pay the training bill! and you dont back it! but youve put your negative hipster boot into Faulks and the owners, They might not be Big Bank Brodie! but it is what they want to do and must enjoy racing their horse. Andrew Faulks is a long and experienced trainer and doesnt need your superior knowledge or publically unsolicated assessment of his clients horse. You should apologise for your inference that andrew faulks is stealing!! Your an aorrogant narcicisstic ginger headed little cunt and all your posts on this matter should be retracted! Maligning a hard working HONEST! trainer and belittling the owners participating in a sport they love in these financial times iust shows what a fuckin douchebag you are! Buy it or dont buy it, bet on it or dont bet on it! Not you tho, gotta make a big brag top 10 rich list brodie post! Make sure you send some cash to help them out with the apology! You probably jerk off to a great big poster of john key and clayton weatherston you narcissistic prick! How many horse have you trained and owned? Nah spend most of your time fucking crying over TAB restrictions and how they will ruin the industry and it will go broke and then the trainers and owners will go broke and then go on a campaign against poor small time trainer and owners cause they are trying and havent lived up to Brodies prerequisites, They havent been succesful but still wish to persevere, Lets publicly mock them!! ah brodie! They are the type of people you step over when you leave the opera!
whiplash smile
No one was laughing when that happened! Different horse but same non defeatist attitude! , Corumba wasnt bad either! The 4YO Diamond winner was driven by Blair Orange for Andrew Faulks & Noel Creighton and paid $81.70 for the win!! GTH AVEROSS IN 1.54 BOILOVER 12:31 AM 02 Jun 2007 NZST Comment (0) Tweet Share Email Print Back to Home page GTH Aveross - 2007 Ashburton Toyota (Your Local Dealer) 4YO Diamond Courtesy Of Race Images, Christchurch, New Zealand - GTH Aveross ran a scarcely believable 1.54. The first ever Giltrap City Toyota Harness Jewels race day kicked off in amazing fashion at Ashburton Raceway on Saturday morning, June 2, with an $81.70 boilover winner in the form of GTH Aveross. The daughter of Badlands Hanover ran a scarcely believable 1.54 for the mile in the $200,000 Ashburton Toyota 4YO Diamond for mares after northern mares Montel (Nicole Molander) and Bachelorette (Phillip Jeffries) set up blistering early quarters. It is testament to the Jewels concept that GTH Aveross, a Waikouaiti mare who had won three of her previous 46 starts, was able to pick up the $100,000 winner’s cheque as well as invaluable black-type in the form of a near-record mile rate.
