  1. Enjoyed the day out, crowd was thin, but to be fair I enjoyed it better than cup day, where there is copious amounts of the younger generation full of alcohol, the racing was good, thought Dee and gee put up a top run given the weight she had to lump.Didnt hear many of the race dividends given out over the pa system, only the last race, but I did miss the first few races.
  2. I backed it before reading your post, liked the look of the odds.
  3. Done the boks a favour in one way and another.
  4. They were certainly outclassed, great to see a couple of tries from boks, England certainly didnt back up as predicted.
  5. Good tipping boys, I let tin roof blues go, after backing her at forbury with the perfect trip behind leader and couldn't run on, super run over the mile to sit parked, was cursing when she hit the front at 100 win fixed, thought I would wait till the coast trots to follow her and also sister's delight.Be looking to pick up a rough div on the circuit.
  6. Can't beat that coast racing, few that I can recall were black horse called ernest, gaucho ,colfix just to name a few around my time
  7. Simon de montfort and pinotage was the double that day he won, both were at huge odds, a wee bit before my time, but can remember an uncle that backed Simon, and his brother was on pinotage, neither took the big odds double.

Tough ask on young horses, especially when at that young age a lot are not physically or mentally ready for the track, fingers crossed that a 5yr old thoroughbred that I have a interest in can get to the races at some stage, been very patient, but it is a virtue, and I know if he does make it he will have being given every possible show, the rest will be up to him.

Steady on, there may be a fiery ginga amongst them, wasn't he a very good horse.
  11. That's good to hear, shame their track has never been the same since the supposedly improvements they made all those years ago, only after that did the abandonments start.
  12. Haven't Kumara always been a stand alone club, not wanting to work with any of the other coast clubs, or am I wrong.
  13. Well done also to other kiwi jumper ablaze, don't know whether he was sold or transferred to Australia, but 2 from 2, you can't ask for much more than that.
  14. Old story isn't it, step on the junior or the battling small trainer driver, nothing ever changes, and they wonder why the lack of interest and junior driver numbers, same they don't get the benefit of the doubt, they are only learning after all.
  15. If so he must have taken the wrap for the trainer, no mention of that in the stipes report, admitted he had erred in his judgment.
  16. Checkout the ride on augustace the first day, 5 wide the trip, still only 3 odd lengths from the winner, went a nice race yesterday to, was paying big money both days.
  17. The 11 year old gordonian got going early, and just kept on going to well for the rest, great win for the Southland connections, goes to show, your never to old.
  18. Had the same issue last week, re claims, cost me a winner to.
  19. You would have thought given the horse welfare these days, this would have been sorted pre race.
  20. Anyone out there hear how the big protest went, I guess at the end of day they all galloped out there, and ended up a little horse.
  21. I'm going for benaud, for a roughie today.
  22. Maybe the nite to take some retirement all up bets on the horses mentioned, by our tipster, good luck to Mr Teaz for the future, the one quote that sticks in my mind was from one of the calls at the Oamaru gallops, a flat race, he referred to high forty the jumper, when he was well back, like the boy with the wheelbarrow, he's got the job in front of him.
  23. Oh boy, where wre my leather jockeys.
  24. Like that profile photo, brings back memories, when I had a school test and the question was, who was the first man on the moon, my reply was Steve Austin.
