Great day for  the horse and harness racing in NZ.

Retirement? with Dennis O Connell training hes got got another couple of hundred races left in him I guess though it shows with so many meetings somewhere along the line it can happen.

Dennis purchased the horse too 2 weeks ago maybe for the same price as the prize money he won today, yes average field but a nice quiet drive by one of the most under rated drivers in the country...... now 55 starts for a 3rd placing.

He purchased the trotter he won with too off the breeders.

That girl seems to get the best out of Alexy.

Not sure what happened a while back but she had a falling out with Dean Taylor but way better off being with Negus, he doesn't have the best stock which makes her stats look pretty ordinary but her best trait seems to be getting the best out of horses with very limited ability, just like AS today.

As for getting back into this conversation when the Spitfire runs a place, you may well never reenter?

Riding in on my white horse. Singing the Taylor Swift lyrics "Look what you made me do, look what you made me do, look what you made me do, oh look what you made me do".

Aveross Spitfire by our side as we come to salute, especially for you Brodie 😄

Was only a 2 week mute out of this convo.

Riding back out getting my disco inferno on, belting out the lyrics "Burn baby burn, burn baby, burn baby, burn baby burn"

Chuckles.

gammalite save all your money there's very good ex kiwi bred racing in your state called duke

Had a look for one with Duke in its name but couldn't find it?

Found one that Suzanne Herlihy bred called ' LL COOL J ' in tonight. Been going like a rocket with 3 wins from 3 starts in QLD.

only paying $2.50 on Sportsbet though.

Hard to find a way to argue that you weren’t wrong Brodie

But you’ll manage it

Mikie

Backing the winner probably helps Mikie

It was always going to trail the Needham horse who was always going to run them along.

There really  was nothing else in  the race with much ability.

Does O’Connell train on the Waikouaiti beach?

If he does maybe the beach work has set the horse alight.

O Connell has Pete's Dash in race 1 today,I think hes got best form and almost the worst draw, then Aveross Majesty later on,won on grass at Oamaru, what are the odds today?

That is what I was thinking. Did not see race, so watched replay.

Was running on nicely.

THE BRODSTER not going to like it but I think the spitty will win a race

I hope that The Spitfire does win a race, as he deserves one for trying !

I wouldnt be putting too much on it though as the field he was in the other day was extremely weak and didnt have to do any work.

You would have to ask the question though, why has the 2 Averos’s  that have go e to O’Connells both grown another leg ?

Maybe hes giving the horses viagra,it hardens them up and I've heard men grow another leg with it as well😁

That trotter had previously shown ability before O'connell got it to train. He obviously has got its manners and head right and it has improved as it has matured. Haven't seen one win like he did at oamaru for a long time,so will be interesting to see how far it can go up the grades.
