He had every chance to get off the rail the first lap and didn't choose to do so. Poor drive. 😉 Poor horse, it needs to be retired. Only way it is ever going to win a race is if it can cut across the middle of the track Chief. Best driver in the country can not do anything with it, so why would you bother racing a horse with such limited ability? I think it is a bit big for kids karts? Yankiwi
Pretty obvious to me, the horse must need a right hand turn race. It's record shows it is unbeaten turning right. If that too fails, maybe a harness hurdle race? Edited July 26, 2020 by Yankiwi

Chief, maybe that is the problem, it needs a standing start? Seriously though, I feel for the horse! Worst thing it ever did was run last when it qualified, it shouldve run a bit slower! Will it line up this coming week for unplaced start no. 48?

Do you have an opinion that justifies sending a soon to be 7yr old gelding around for its 48th start? I watched it race today for the first time - the horse doesn't want to be there!

Chief Stipe
STEWARDS Uncompetitive galloper banned from racing at TAB venues Article Author Ben Dorries 12:06PM26 July 2020 3 Comments As debate rages in Victoria about whether lowly-rated horses should be banned from competing on the professional circuit, an uncompetitive Queensland galloper has been barred from racing at TAB venues. Victorian racecaller Terry Bailey got tongues wagging when he said the industry must review the problem of low-rated horses running out of their class to merely run for prizemoney paid down to 10th place. He claimed it was a blight on the industry and was eroding punter confidence. On Friday, Queensland stewards took the decision to ban four-year-old gelding Amendola from racing at TAB venues after it ran 25.5 lengths last at Ipswich in his first race for 14 months. Amendola had started $101 in the 1200m Ipswich maiden and might as well have been $1001. Amendola has now been beaten out of sight in all four of his career races, The son of Group I winner Falvelon made his debut on the Gold Coast in October 2018 - finishing last of 11, beaten 15.5 lengths. His subsequent runs produced thumping defeats by 10 lengths and 18.5 lengths at Beaudesert and Ipswich respectively. Stewards told Ipswich trainer Geoff Livermore the galloper would be barred from racing at TAB venues. "As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start," the stewards' report read. "Connections advised that it would be the intention to limit the use of the whip on the gelding. "Tightened between runners leaving the 800m. "Trainer G. Livermore was advised that the gelding, which performed poorly today, will be barred from TAB venues until such time as its form improves to a satisfactory standard." It follows the well-publicised recent case in Queensland where rising 13-year-old Fighting Heart was beaten 25 lengths on his return to racing after a seven-year absence and was then barred from racing at metropolitan tracks. Rising Heart turns 13 next Saturday and won't be allowed to race anywhere after that point.

Rusty
Well what a let down that was this arvo. I don't think there will be a book published about Aveross Spitfire. Having said that, has there ever been a horse with such a bad record, have so much written about it?

If I was wrong then that would not be my opinion? To me, my opinion is correct, just as yours should be! As for someone thinking they should be still racing a horse with no ability, that is just crazy!

At the moment all it amounts to is a public flogging of a horse.
