  1. Last 2 days I got this page doesn't exist, don't what happened, thought it had been shut down.
  2. I guess you do, was a top effort given the ground she covered, you do wonder sometimes when horses that get the visitors draw, are better to go back and ride for luck, then at least they don't have a hard run.I reckon there be a few that slept well that night.
  3. Good fields and racing down there, quite a few excuses for some beaten runners, being caught 3 and 4 wide the trip, seemed everyone wanted to be on the speed regardless of the draws.
  4. Well done people, great tipping.
  5. This horse may fly the flag for the coast, if the greens have their way, whitebaiting may only be a memory, feel for the coasters, just about anything they want to do to create jobs and industry, gets the bums rush from the government.
  6. Sounds abit fishy to me.

    Nz Cup

Tough job trying to back a winner there yesterday, had all my syndicate bets, visited that dark lonely place that's frowned upon, its called no return, may have been a bit unlucky, shanpark the wrong check, he's our secret, 4 wide the trip, still a good run all the same, she's gallant put up the rodeo act, need i go on, were good competitive fields and I enjoyed the racing, but at the end of the day, they were harder to pick than a broken nose, just as well it was the last round, because I need to be turned out. Very sad to here about Galway Garry, been a revelation this year and after he won his last start trainer said he was heading to the paddock, and set for the nuggets, thoughts to the connections, also good to see the eades get a win with Riviera rock, hope all well with orepuki lad who didn't make the cup, sounds like he may have had a setback.
  8. Days of the our stayers long gone, all the races over the longer trips just seem to be sit and sprint affairs, never any true pace set, enjoyed yesterday's race and the story behind the winner, have had a interest in one that started in the cup not so long ago, and to be fair was very exciting, I wasn't to worried about the caliber of the field, one never forgets these occasions, no matter where you finish. Now have a wee interest in a 5yr old bred to stay, and hopefully we can get to the races one day, he has a very patient owners.

    Nz Cup

Great result and fully deserved, a good lesson to us all, never give up on life, and follow your dreams, the result today is proof that it can happen, they seem very humble and hard working people.
  10. Fingers crossed for her, has showed some ability, that for sure.
  11. Thanks for that, hopefully she can pull through and be saved as a brood mare.
  12. Thanks, Freda, hopefully will suit all by Wednesday.
  13. Any news on the horse that fell at banks peninsula.
  14. How's the track looking for Wednesday.
  15. Enjoyed the day out, crowd was thin, but to be fair I enjoyed it better than cup day, where there is copious amounts of the younger generation full of alcohol, the racing was good, thought Dee and gee put up a top run given the weight she had to lump.Didnt hear many of the race dividends given out over the pa system, only the last race, but I did miss the first few races.
  16. I backed it before reading your post, liked the look of the odds.
  17. Done the boks a favour in one way and another.
  18. They were certainly outclassed, great to see a couple of tries from boks, England certainly didnt back up as predicted.
  19. Good tipping boys, I let tin roof blues go, after backing her at forbury with the perfect trip behind leader and couldn't run on, super run over the mile to sit parked, was cursing when she hit the front at 100 win fixed, thought I would wait till the coast trots to follow her and also sister's delight.Be looking to pick up a rough div on the circuit.
  20. Can't beat that coast racing, few that I can recall were black horse called ernest, gaucho ,colfix just to name a few around my time
  21. Simon de montfort and pinotage was the double that day he won, both were at huge odds, a wee bit before my time, but can remember an uncle that backed Simon, and his brother was on pinotage, neither took the big odds double.

    Babies Racing

Tough ask on young horses, especially when at that young age a lot are not physically or mentally ready for the track, fingers crossed that a 5yr old thoroughbred that I have a interest in can get to the races at some stage, been very patient, but it is a virtue, and I know if he does make it he will have being given every possible show, the rest will be up to him.
