Maybe the reason they have invented these awards is to give Auckland something to boast about, how many metro courses are there in NZ ?
You can't tell me that Masterton are doing more than cubs such as Riverton, they are just one example, not quite so sure about the better weather lol but as many clubs farm these places, they are probably more sustainable moving forward than the likes of Alexandra Park who's module is doomed.
Lets have an award for NZ Racing Industry, Piss away Money Board of the year, the finalists can be determined by the following,
How many desk based jobs,
How many Millions diverted from front line to administration
How qualified the present CEO is when it comes to NZ Racing.
To qualify each finalist must have made at least 5 serious blunders during the last 12 months.

No argument from me Curious. Owners will trust their trainers to make the right decisions for their horses. I don't know enough about that track to know what those decisions would/should be - although I'm aware of some of the opinions that have been aired.
I was just bemused that the press release didn't just leave it at "depending on sufficient entries" - rather than what seemed like a "poke" at the trainers - that they've been given what they asked for - now front up & use it! (at least, that's how it read to me ....)
It's not a big deal - but simply not what I would have expected in a factual, info-only bulletin regarding possible upcoming trials. Maybe the Comms team had Easter weekend off .....
