    • Probably cost is a factor.  Other constraints would be skill, not enough machinery, applying turf custom and practice to synthetic. I always thought that they would groom between races which seems the logical thing to do otherwise those who race early get the safest track. Then again I also assumed they would groom the track every day BEFORE track work.
    • Here's what I put on a galloping thread earlier today >> Today at ASHBURTON the trotters use the mobile in race 1 (  that's sensible) BUT in races 3 + 6 + 9 with mammoth some 16 horse  fields , the Starter is NO CHANCE of getting those 3 trots away from a stand without chaos.. There will be more gallopers than at Riccarton in those 3 races 😆.🏇.  THE RESULT Race 1 had 3 gallop out at the start and that was mobile Lol  (including hot fav with John Dunn driving. Race 3 . well here's the video . I think the commentator was worried none would finish at one stage. JUST a Disgrace to racing . What Punter Anywhere would put even Play money on this shambles/\???  Sets Trotting back Decades.  to just AMATEUR Sport. crazy stuff.  maybe they should abandon races 6 and 9 ? 🤣
    • Doesn't mean you can't change it back.  Remember when the fillies could race on Day 1 and back up against tge boys on Day 2?
    • I don't understand that either.  Is it laziness?
    • What Moonee Valley races Where Moonee Valley Racecourse – 1 McPherson St, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039 When Friday, November 15, 2024 First Race 6:15pm AEDT Visit Dabble Racing returns to Moonee Valley Racecourse this Friday night for a bumper eight-race meeting. The rail comes out 4m to take advantage of the Good 4 rating following the busy stretch of spring carnival action at the track. The Moonee Valley races are set to commence at 6:15pm AEDT. Best Bet at Moonee Valley: Inexorable Inexorable was the definition of ‘hard watch’ last time over 1519m at this track. Nevertheless, he exploded late and should have finished a lot closer than the 4.5-length margin suggests. Barrier three is a touch concerning, but with senior jockey Jordan Childs hopping back on board, Inexorable will be given every opportunity to bring up a second win at start 11. Best Bet Race 8 – #10 Inexorable (3) 4yo Gelding | T: Grahame Begg | J: Jordan Childs (59.5kg) Bet with PlayUp Next Best at Moonee Valley: Looselipssinkships Looselipssinkships was only gunned down late when finishing second on debut at Benalla over 1206m. The three-year-old gelding settled up on speed and was left in front a long way out, only to be nabbed in the shadows of the winning post. Mick Dee will look to use barrier two to his advantage, and with a cheap sectional early, Looselipssinkships should be tough to run down at the second time of asking. Next Best Race 2 – #7 Looselipssinkships (2) 3yo Gelding | T: Patrick & Michelle Payne | J: Michael Dee (58kg) Bet with Picklebet Best Value at Moonee Valley: Moon And Back Moon And Back caught the eye when beaten by the barest of margins first-up from a long spell. The six-year-old mare was crucially held up for a run until the final 100m but flew home and should have won. She returns to the 955m, and if John Allen can land the Exosphere mare in the moving line with cover, Moon And Back will prove hard to hold out. The $12 quote with Dabble looks the wrong price. Best Value Race 7 – #10 Moon And Back (7) 6yo Mare | T: Andrew Noblet | J: John Allen (59.5kg) Bet with Dabble Moonee Valley quaddie tips – 15/11/24 Moonee Valley quadrella selections Friday, November 15, 2024 3-6-9-10 2-5-11-13 1-4-6-7-9-10 10-11-12 | Copy this bet straight to your betslip Horse racing tips View the full article
